Small update here, but added a layer count for those that are interested.*
Did you know emotes are incredibly resistant to heat? Seriously, though. I primarily made this for =TheRocksters BIG Emote Contest. I was sitting there, thinking of what I could possibly make as an entry, when suddenly I remembered something... A few nights ago, I had this dream that I got an assignment for class where I had to make a volcano somehow, and I obviously wanted to make it using pixel art. So what did I do? I ofcourse decided to grab that dream and make an actual emote out of it. Now, there are a lot of things in here that I'm not too happy with and things that didn't end up even near to what I wanted it to, especially the super crappy lava, the horrible shading on the actual volcano, and the animation of the emote, but I think this is as good as I'm going to have patience with making it... I hope you all like it at least. Animation Frames: 16 Frame Delay: 0,07 sec *Number of Layers: 210** **Not as many as in Power Miscat Handling, that one had a total of 331, but still a lot. Keep in mind, though, that some of those layers are sketches, tests, and unused ideas. = Colors Used = Lava: 5 Volcano: 8 Daily DeviationGiven 2009-12-09Put a fire-proof emote on top of a really happy volcano and you get one awesome Volcano Ride by `LeoLeonardo! The animation is flawless and the details in both the volcano and the emote joyfully bouncing on top of it are nothing short of amazing. (Suggested by ~Amaralyn and Featured by `CookiemagiK) Comments
Wow! Simply amazing!
I can see someone recieving another DD in the future -- *Fried-Jelly, the 8th Wonder of the World... if she wasn't asleep all the time D: I am not accepting icon requests, icon trades or icon commissions due to my busy schedule. Please stop asking. Am I the only one seeing a large stamp saying "Daily Deviation" under the Description section in a near future?

And yet, the stunning pixeling on all three subjects, simple yet effective lava animation, gentle bobbing of both characters, and lovable expressions combine together to create a piece too wonderful to ignore.
One thing I did notice that seemed a tad off was the lack of perspective change when it came to the mouth moving up and down. But that would have called for an intense amount of creativity and detail that I don't think any emoticonist or pixel artist on dA would care to plunge into.
Just as I was hitting the Send button, I realized that the lava colors change! Excellent touch, it creates a nice illusion of constant flow, rather than animation loop. The one thing I might see would be more frames for the drops of lava falling down to the volcano, but it's already amazing.
Last thing: a stray missing pixel in the bottom center of the volcano.
I have to say, Leo: you're setting the bar high on this one. Keep it up like this and you'll be replying to messages for weeks at a time.
Kids: don't try this at home or the next time you're on vacation in Hawaii.
Besides the smooth animation and the epic hugeness of this deviation, the best part has to be the faces.
I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone when I say that the faces on this piece is enough to make anyone's day. Not only is this piece super cute, but it's just fun to look at.
This puts a whole new twists on emoticons. This will go down in emoticon history as the piece that changed giant emoticons forever. Thank you Loe for this wonderful piece of art.
