I got this idea while watching an episode of Spongebob. And, yes, I can elaborate. It was during the episode where Sponge Bob tries to get in to this sailor bar where you have to be a real tough guy to get in. ("Season 3, Episode 6a, No weenies" allowed to be exact. Patrick comes up with the idea to let Spongebob pretend to beat him up, thus making it seem like Spongebob is a real toughy. But Patrick starts "beating himself up" (watch the episode and you'll see what I mean), and at one point, he is throwing himself back and forth above Spongebob in a perfect arch, and it is one heck of an hilarious piece of animation.
So, yes. That's where the throwing back and forth came from. And it turned into a handshake. Cause that's just how my mind works, alright?
